If you would like to support the promotion of post-growth ideas and approaches in the Cologne-Bonn region by joining our group please contact us (see below).

 

Our plenary meetings normally take place every second Monday, mostly in the city centre of Cologne. Smaller groups meet in-between to work on particular projects.

 

We are currently working on organising events like film screenings and visits to local post-growth-related initiatives. We also started building links to other local initiatives related to post-growth. We happily welcome people that would like to get involved in organising these events and activities. We are interested and open to hearing your ideas to promote post-growth, and we hope you can find like-minded people in our group to work together with.

Reading circle

One member suggests a short text such as an article or chapter of a book. Then we meet to share what stood out to us. Each person tends to bring their own experience and perspective and notices different things. This way we get to hear different views and get to know each other better.

Film screenings

 Together with the organisation Foyer Futur, we organised two degrowth film evenings in October 2025, followed by a discussion with the director. We are grateful for your donations which helped to cover expenses, and are planning more screenings for 2026. If you can suggest a venue, please get in touch!

Project visits

We are planning neighbourhood tours to visit projects that relate to post-growth ideas. We hope to run these in various neighbourhoods, where you can walk from one project to another and chat on the way.

The Good Life in Crisis

The event series 'The Good Life in Crisis' opens up a space for exchange, networking and joint action with the degrowth approach at its core. In three interactive evening events, we first want to develop a shared understanding of this approach. Then (in spring 2026), we will devote each month to a specific topic - from housing and mobility to nutrition and social justice. The series invites you to think along, get involved and become part of a newly emerging community working towards a sustainable society.
